Enhancing Connection Performance
Occasionally, DaDesktop might warn you if your connection is showing 'latency' (delay) that's too high for smooth usage.
When you see this, take the steps below to help improve your connection.

Steps to take
- If you can, use an Ethernet connection. If you're on Wi-Fi, run a speed test beforehand (for example, at speedtest.net) to check your connection.
- Try to stay as close as possible to the wireless access point. Prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi over 2.4 GHz, which generally delivers slower speeds and is more susceptible to interference than the 5 GHz band.
- Turn off or disable any VPNs or proxies before you begin the course.
- If feasible, temporarily disable security programs that might interfere with your connection, as they can sometimes increase latency.
-
It may be worth reaching out to your company's IT support, particularly if content or network filtering is affecting things. Adding the following domains to a whitelist can make a difference:
1. https://\*.npg.io (e.g., any host on .npg.io)
2. https://dd4t.dadesktop.com - Avoid heavy downloads or uploads during the course—if possible, pause Windows, Mac, or Linux updates until after the session.
-
Your internet speed should exceed: "10 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload"
