GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for specific courses through the reservation feature. This ensures that these courses receive top priority for requested GPU compute hardware, thereby guaranteeing that the necessary infrastructure is available to successfully execute training sessions and labs.

 

To establish a GPU reservation for a course, please follow the process outlined below:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page and select the blue button labeled "Reserve GPU", located directly beneath the Video conference button.

 

A dialog box will appear to collect the necessary details for your GPU request.

Begin by specifying the location, which defaults to "Anywhere".

If you know which city the participants are nearest to, you can manually enter it by choosing "Within distance from city".

For broader location coverage, select "Others...".

Once the location is confirmed, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you will define the machine requirements.

In this stage, specify all resources required per machine to obtain an accurate estimate of the approximate costs involved.

** Precision is critical here, as it ensures a more accurate cost calculation and assists course managers in sourcing alternative resources if regional inventory is depleted.

 

If the entered data is correct, click Continue to advance to the GPU requirements section.

It is highly recommended to consult with the trainer to determine the exact specifications needed for the course. Trainers typically have a clear understanding of the GPU Vendor and Model required for their delivery. If there is uncertainty on either side, please select "ANY".

Currently, we support two Vendors: AMD & Nvidia.

Regarding models, our current catalogue is displayed. If you are unsure of the trainer's specific needs, again, please select "ANY".

 

Once satisfied with the reservation details, click "Place reservation". This will allocate the necessary funds, activate the reservation, and display its active status on the course page, as illustrated below:

 

Should you receive updated information regarding the required GPUs or need to modify the existing reservation, please contact DD support to assist with editing the GPU reservation request.
