Expanding the disk of a Fresh-Start desktop within a course

When a Fresh-Start machine runs short on disk space, you can easily enlarge it to gain more storage
  1. First, halt the Fresh-Start machine
  2. Next, use Clone & Resize to Standalone as shown below (create an organization if you haven’t already) Clone - Resize to Standalone Desktop
  3. In this step, increase the disk size as needed, then submit
  4. Go to the ‘Standalones’ link at the top of the page to locate it and confirm it’s there
  5. Delete the original Fresh-Start machine within the course using the ‘Delete’ button
  6. Click the 'Create Fresh-Start from my Standalone' button
    Create from Standalone

  7. In the ‘Create from Standalone’ dialog, you can also choose to enlarge the disk if you skipped that earlier step
Create Freshh Start from Standalone, choose disk size change
  8. Provide an alias name if desired, and then click the ‘Create Desktop’ button
  9. For standard DaDesktop Linux and Windows OS templates, the operating system will automatically extend the partitions. Note that AlmaLinux standard templates use a different default partition layout, which requires manual steps (detailed below).
  10. Custom OS templates may not auto-expand partitions; you’ll need to handle the extension manually using the steps below.
