Expanding the disk of a Fresh-Start desktop within a course
When a Fresh-Start machine runs short on disk space, you can easily enlarge it to gain more storage
First, halt the Fresh-Start machine
Next, use Clone & Resize to Standalone as shown below (create an organization if you haven’t already)
In this step, increase the disk size as needed, then submit
Go to the ‘Standalones’ link at the top of the page to locate it and confirm it’s there
Delete the original Fresh-Start machine within the course using the ‘Delete’ button
Click the 'Create Fresh-Start from my Standalone' button
In the ‘Create from Standalone’ dialog, you can also choose to enlarge the disk if you skipped that earlier step
Provide an alias name if desired, and then click the ‘Create Desktop’ button
For standard DaDesktop Linux and Windows OS templates, the operating system will automatically extend the partitions. Note that AlmaLinux standard templates use a different default partition layout, which requires manual steps (detailed below).
Custom OS templates may not auto-expand partitions; you’ll need to handle the extension manually using the steps below.
To expand partitions on custom OS templates and Almalinux standard templates, follow the steps below
